This girl’s mother told me that
they wanted a background for their daughter’s classic oil portrait that reminded them of us. When she suggested our fire place, I was especially touched because the wooden mantle piece was hand-carved by my husband, Gerry Chromoy. They got a bit of both of us. And what a poignant age to portrait their daughter—14, future-bound and backed by an adoring family.
