Here is the first in a series of short videos showing my oil portraits in related groups. This group covers a portrait tradition that grandparents made. Their 2 married sons and their wives gave them a total of 6 grandchildren. Voilà! 6 portraits of cousins!
At first it started with that very special, first grandchild. Nothing could be more exciting to them. They wanted to celebrate that beauty and enjoy it forever. They knew it would only be the beginning. There would surely be more grandchildren and more portraits.
They considered: How about getting all of their portraits done near the same precious young age for each grandchild? … individually as they came along. They would display them together in their house. Then whenever the children come over they would see how important they each are in their grandparents’ eyes.
They actually went a step farther. They got me to paint each portrait twice. That way they could give the second one to their children, the parents of the grandchildren, to enjoy in their own homes.
Now when these children grow up, they can inherit their own portrait from the “Oil Portraits of Cousins Collection” and share it with their children.
Thanks for watching. Why not leave a comment and let me know what you think?
