The grandmother’s fourth grandchild was 3 years old. She arranged for us to photograph him for my reference shots. As I worked on this grandson oil portrait I conceived of a woodland scene for the background. When I was finished the grandmother loved it. The mother had her say about these portraits too:
“Often times I look at my children and think, as many parents often do, I wish I could just stop time. Of course that is impossible, but I feel as though Jessica’s oil portraits are the next best thing. Looking at those portraits brings such joy to me. The details, from their beautiful, sparkling eyes to the tiny lines on their fingers and toes, makes me feel as though I’m revisiting the past.”
